HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MAKE-UP
There are dozens if not hundreds of brands of make-up on the market
today. It is essential to choose the brand and type of make up that is
formulated for your skin type and your skin tone. The make-up line that
works for your sister or your mother may not be the ideal product for
you. Finding the make-up that is most suitable for your skin type must
be your first priority when shopping for make-up and skin care products.
Before heading out to the store, take the time to test you skin to
determine if whether you have normal, dry, oily, combinational or
sensitive skin. To accomplish this, dab your face with a facial tissue
early in the morning. If you see oil or grease residue on the tissue,
you will know that have oily skin. The appearance of white lines or
patches of white flakes when you lightly scratch your skin is a clear
indication that you have dry skin. If the T-zone – across the forehead
down the middle of the face from forehead to chin – is oily while the
rest of the face is dry, you have combination skin. Sensitive skin is
easily detected because it reacts to just about anything that is used on
it. Understandably, people who have normal skin will have little or no
difficulty in finding brand of make-up and skin care products that will
fine work for them. Skin care products formulated for dry skin are
usually fort ified
with vitamin E and other moisture replenishers to help nourish the skin.
People who have oily skin, must be more careful in choosing make up and
skin care products. They should be look for products that contain
alcohol and other strong ingredients to control oil deposits in the
skin. Those with sensitive skin must always be on the lookout for
products that are hypo-allergenic, in order to reduce or eliminate the
risk of an adverse skin reaction. Especially when shopping for make-up
and skin care products formulated for sensitive skin, some brands may be
more expensive but if it means the difference between a flawlessly
perfect face and a bad skin reaction or more serious skin problems, the
choice is an easy one. |
