HOW MAKE-UP VARIES WITH THE NATURE OF WORK

The make-up a woman wears to work is without a doubt dictated by the type of work that she does. The on-the-job make-up worn by a woman who works as a restaurant hostess is completely different from the make-up worn to work by a police woman or a nurse. Women who work in offices wear natural looking make-up while restaurant hostesses often sport a more whimsical, fun loving look.

The nurse or police woman wears moisturizer with perhaps a little eye liner, and lip gloss. The woman who chosen a job in the construction industry or installing cable or telephone lines may choose to wear just moisturizer and nothing else. Why put on a lot of make-up when you’re only going to get more and more grimy and sweaty as the workday proceeds. The female firefighter, for instance is sure to come out of a fiery building covered in soot and grime. Therefore, her make-up will quite probably be non-existent during work hours.

On the other hand, if she’s in the administrative office of the police or fire department, her make-up regimen is the same as any other woman who works in an office. The police dispatcher, the teacher, the telephone operator and the corporate executive all follow the same make-up regimen… clean and natural, looking the very best under those harsh unnatural fluorescent lights.

Easy and natural is the order of the day for waitresses the world over. She is in and out of a hot kitchen all day long as she places and retrieves orders of her hungry customers. She must look great for her customers, without showing signs of stress or strain. If she wears a heavy foundation, the steam and heat of the kitchen would show on her face, so over easy is, with moisturizer, powder, light eye shadow if any, a little blush, eyeliner and natural lipstick or lip gloss.
