Color selection in putting make up

Choosing make up colors largely depend on your complexion. Beauty experts advise you to determine whether you have warm tones or cool tones. To determine this, all you have to do is to hold up a pink color and an orange color next to your skin and see which color matches your complexion the best. Warm colored individuals should wear earthy colors like red and orange while cool colored ones need to wear berries and pinks.

This way of choosing your make up colors is very limited because you may have a different requirement from most women. It’s a good thing that there is a new way to choose make up colors beyond warm and cool tones through further dividing these categories into the four seasons. Spring and autumn fall under the warm tones while winter and summer fall under the cool tones.

The girls who fall under the winter category are those who have dark hair and dark eyes. Their skin tone has a bluish or pinkish tone to it. Usually, winters have dark eyes. Asian and African people are considered winters. Caucasians can also be categorized into the Winter group if they have dark hair and dark colored eyes. The best colors for winters are purple, mauve, and gray for their eye shadow. For the lips, winters should use blue based pinks, reds, plumbs, and mauves. Smoky eyes and red lips look great for the evening look of winters.

Summers have the most subtle coloring of all. A summer’s coloring is very soft and she will never have black hair. Because of their color, summers should try to balance their look as much as possible. The best colors for summers are grays, taupe, and cool pinks. Summers should also use blue based mauves and pinks.

Springs have a complexion which will remind you of the vibrant colors of springs. Springs should use colors that are less earthy. They look best with the colors that bring out their eyes. Springs should use yellows, corals, blues, salmons, gold browns, and bright peaches according to their eye color. For their lips, Springs should go for cinnamon, raspberries, and coral.

When you think of Autumns, you should imagine the red, yellow, and orange of the season. Autumns should not be scared to wear deep browns and spicy colors yet they also look great in muted colors too. Colors that are perfect for Autumns include chocolate brown, peaches, muted taupe, and deep grays for their eye shadow. Cinnamon, burnt red browns, and spicy yellow reds should be used on the lips. Other colors that are great for Autumns include corals and mochas.

Use this categorization for the color selection in putting make up. Take note that not everyone in the warm range should wear the typical warm colors. This also goes true for those in the cool range. When you follow the four seasons of selecting the perfect make up color, you are assured that you will wear make up that fits your complexion just right.
